EDUCATIONAL APPS IN TEACHING MATHEMATICS: EXPLORING PERCEPTIONS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS
Abstract
The study aimed to explore the use of educational apps in Mathematics and perceptions of primary school teachers’ regarding this innovative approach. The sample of the study was primary school teachers from Rawalpindi city. The study highlighted the benefits, challenges and influencing factors that affect teachers’ decisions regarding usage of educational apps for teaching Mathematics. The results of the study indicated that primary school teachers are having positive perceptions about usage of these apps but, they also highlighted several challenges such as technical issues, inadequate training, difficulties in curriculum alignment and less confidence of teachers in using technology that needs to be addressed to get maximum benefit from the apps. It is recommended to provide better internet access, enough technology based resources and proper technical training to teachers for utilizing educational apps effectively.
